Each contribution supports careful research, writing, and verification so their names are accompanied by a narrative, not just a date and place.

 

Stories Behind the Stars is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization with annual operating costs usually less than $10,000. These costs consist of research tool access, training of volunteers, outreach campaigns, and education programs. To keep costs down, we have elected not to register as a 501(c)(3) tax entity. Doing so would require even greater administrative costs and thus more donations. Our mission is not to build an organization, but to write the stories of our honored WWII Fallen, which will be accomplished when our volunteers complete the last of 421,000 stories. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and your donations are essential, but they are not tax deductible.
